This research project led by Michael Dziwornu aims to provide Ghana EXIM Bank with a comprehensive, data-driven assessment of the human capital landscape in the Volta Region to support the establishment of a Garment and Apparel Industrial Park. It maps the available workforce by age, gender, education, and employment status, evaluate technical and transferable skills relevant to garment manufacturing, identify skills gaps, and assess the capacity of local training institutions. The study also explores wage expectations, work aspirations, and barriers to employment, with a focus on women and youth. Ultimately, the project will generate actionable recommendations for workforce development, training curricula, and recruitment strategies to ensure the park’s successful operationalization and long-term sustainability.
